Info on BC4F RICH VA

Birthday Cakes 4 Free provides free birthday cakes to financially or socially disadvantaged kids and seniors.

Our mission is to help celebrate their special day and let them know they matter in hopes that this one act of kindness will last a lifetime.

Birthday Cakes 4 Free was founded in 2010 by Elicia Hammond. Over the last 3 years, Chapters have been
established   across the US. The Richmond Chapter was started on Sept. 5, 2013. We will strive to serve
Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover and Ashland.  We serve children that through no fault of their
own have found themselves in poverty, shelters and/or foster care, or stricken with an illness or disease.
We also serve senior citizens in situations of need. Our Chapter will be providing cakes for kids (18 and
younger), and  seniors 65 and older.
The Richmond Chapter is also honored to provide cakes to wounded military heroes who are receiving
medical care in and around the surrounding areas of Richmond, VA.
If your organization would like to participate in our program to receive a monthly cake for children in your program please send an email for a referral form.
If you would like to nominate a child, senior or military veterans,  please email us at Birthdaycakes4freerichva@gmail.com.
Volunteers and donations are always welcome. Volunteers can bake, donate store brought cakes or deliver cakes.  Donations can range from cake mix, boxes, icing, and/ or monetary.  Call or email for info on how to sign up to volunteer or donate.

We do accept donations to help fund our local chapter, but donations are not limited to money. We are 100% Non- profit, we receive no funding and have no paid positions.
Here are a few different ways you can help:

Become a Volunteer Baker
 Donate a store bought cake.
  • All we ask is that it is personalized for the individual child, senior citizen, or wounded military hero, and includes their name, favorite colors, etc.
Volunteer to deliver cakes.
  • Sometimes a family may not have transportation or another volunteer may be able to bake a cake, but not deliver it. We either deliver to a home or shelter. We also meet clients and social workers in public places to deliver the cakes.
  • When you complete the volunteer application located below, please be sure to mention you wish to volunteer to deliver cakes as needed.

Clip Sunday coupons.
  • If you clip and mail us coupons (for boxes of cake mix, frosting, sugar, eggs, vanilla, etc.) we will be able to make our money go even further. Email birthdaycakes4freerichva@gmail.com for our mailing address.

 Donate non-perishable baking goods
  • such as cake mixes, frosting, powdered sugar, oil, Wilton character pans (new or gently used), sprinkles, decorations, candles, cake boxes, cake boards, etc. Contact us for more information for dropping off items.

Gather Supplies for Us
  • At your next birthday party/office party/charity fundraiser event, hold a “Supplies Drive” for us! Invite guests to bring baking and decorating supplies.  It’s great fun for both kids and adults to shop for these items! Then just email birthdaycakes4freerichva@gmail.comand we will pick them up and distribute them to our volunteer bakers. Thank you!

  • Plus those that hold Supply Drives for Birthdaycakes4freeRichmond will in return get a Cake of Thanks for your office or organization.
